Our Mission
Skate with Heart is on a mission to get kids rolling—by providing free skateboards, safety gear, and a supportive crew to help them build confidence, stay active, and find community through skateboarding.
We believe a board isn’t just a toy—it’s a tool for self-expression, resilience, and connection.
Our Story
Skate with Heart began as a big idea from a young skater with an even bigger heart.
At just 13 years old, Tristan launched his own skateboard brand, Atticus Skateboards, driven by his love of skating and creative design. But while building his company, he noticed something that didn’t sit right: a lot of kids couldn’t afford skateboards, safety gear, or even access to safe places to ride.
So at 14, when brainstorming his Eagle Scout service project, Tristan decided to use what he’d built—and what he loved—to give back. He teamed up with his biggest supporter and business partner—his mom, Lauren—and together they launched Skate with Heart, a nonprofit built by youth, for youth.
What started as one board, one park, and one kid’s dream has become a growing movement that helps youth feel seen, supported, and strong.
Now, Skate with Heart hosts pop-up skate days, offers mentorship through a Youth Advisory Team, and provides skateboards and safety gear to kids who need them most. It's a nonprofit built by youth, for youth—with heart.
Our Vision
We envision a world where every child has access to the gear, guidance, and community they need to thrive—on and off the board.
Through skateboarding, we promote physical activity, emotional well-being, and youth leadership in neighborhoods that need it most.
Our Core Values
Community
We believe skateboarding is for everyone. We build spaces where kids of all backgrounds feel welcome, supported, and part of the crew.
Courage
Falling down and getting back up is part of the ride. We celebrate bravery, persistence, and self-belief.
Creativity
Skateboarding is art in motion. We encourage kids to express themselves—whether through tricks, deck design, or leadership.
Inclusion
We are committed to equity and representation in skate culture. All kids deserve access to safe gear, positive mentors, and a place to belong.
